The WHO Caregivers Skills Training Program, developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with Autism Speaks, aims to address the critical need for proper care and support for children with developmental disabilities. With over 50 million children under the age of 5 affected by conditions like autism, intellectual disability, hearing impairment, or speech disorder, access to quality care is often limited. This program consists of 9 group sessions and 3 one-on-one session, equipping caregivers with essential skills to provide appropriate care. By improving access to care, this program seeks to reduce violence and ensure these children have equal opportunities for education and well-being.
